Privacy policy

Warrantly is designed to keep purchase and warranty documents on your device. The default experience uses on-device storage, on-device OCR, and no account.

Deleting your data

Warrantly creates no account. Your vault lives on your device and you can erase it yourself at any time. For step-by-step instructions — including how to reset advertising identifiers and how to email us a deletion request — see Delete your data.

Data processed on your device

• Receipt and invoice images you capture or import
• Extracted metadata (merchant, dates, amounts, serials, order numbers)
• Warranty, return, and claim dates you enter
• Optional local preferences (demo flags, Pro entitlement cache, ingest consent)

Analytics & telemetry

We use Google Analytics (GA4 on the web, Firebase Analytics in the mobile apps) to understand general feature adoption, crash prevention, and user navigation (e.g. counting scans performed, dossiers generated, and button interactions). This data is:

• Not linked to your identity: No account is required, and no user profiles are maintained.
• Strictly privacy-safe: Receipt OCR text, credit card details, financial totals, personal contact information, and serial numbers are strictly excluded from all telemetry parameters.

Advertising (Free tier)

The free app on both Android and iOS may show ads from Google AdMob and mediation partners (including Unity Ads and Liftoff Monetize). Warrantly Pro removes ads entirely.

• Android: the app declares the com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID permission and may use your Android advertising ID to serve and measure ads. On first launch we show a Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent prompt; your region’s privacy choices are available from that prompt. You can reset or delete the advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads.
• iOS: advertising partners may use the device advertising identifier only if you allow tracking through App Tracking Transparency.

Vault contents, receipt OCR text, serials, and payment details are never sent to advertising SDKs.

Data we never sell

• No sale of your personal data or vault documents
• No cloud storage of your receipts or documents without explicit future consent

Purchases

Optional Pro unlocks are processed by the platform store, never by us: Google Play Billing on Android and Apple StoreKit on iOS. Google or Apple processes all payment data under their own privacy policies. We never receive or store your payment card details.

We record only whether a Pro entitlement is active, cached locally on your device, so the app knows which features to unlock. Your purchase and refund history is held in your Google or Apple account, not on our servers.

Network features

Local Network permission is used only to discover scanners and printers on your Wi‑Fi. Simulated scanning works without granting Local Network access.

Email & folder ingest (Pro)

These features run only after on-device consent. Warrantly does not host a mailbox and does not auto-forward your email. Imports you choose are processed on device.

Firebase

The apps utilize Firebase project infrastructure for analytics telemetry. Firebase Analytics operates with anonymous identifiers; no Cloud Firestore, Crashlytics, Authentication, or cloud sync is active without separate user disclosure.

Children

Warrantly is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).

Your choices

• Delete items and demo data inside the app
• Upgrade to Pro to remove ads
• Limit Ad Tracking / revoke ATT in iOS Settings
• Revoke notification, camera, photo, or Local Network permissions in iOS Settings
• Uninstall the app to remove the on-device vault

Data retention

• Vault contents (receipts, invoices, extracted metadata, claim dates) stay on your device for as long as you keep them. We never receive a copy, so we retain nothing and delete nothing on your behalf — you control this entirely, as described in Delete your data.
• Analytics events and device identifiers are retained by Google Analytics for Firebase under our configured retention window and then deleted automatically. You can stop collection at any time via Settings → Share anonymous analytics.
• Purchase records are retained by Google Play or Apple for as long as their policies and applicable tax and accounting law require. They contain no vault contents.

Changes

If we add cloud backup or accounts, we will update this page, in-app disclosures, and store privacy labels before those features ship.
